News Portal's old wine in a new bottle

Most of us would have read the offshore news piece titled - India has only 0.6% jobs from US firms or India, China get limited offshore US jobs.

This is good news, given the hoopla of all jobs in the americas being sucked away to third world countries including India.

Anyways, thats not my point.

I searched around the web to get my hands on the report on which this news piece is based on. I was not able to. What I found was the following two, by the authors mentioned in the news piece - Raymond Mataloni and Joseph Carson.

Offshore Outsourcing and Multinational Companies (PDF)
J. Steven Landefeld and Raymond Mataloni

Manufacturing Payrolls Declining Globally: The Untold Story
By Joseph Carson, Senior Vice President and U.S. Economist
October 10, 2003

See the dates when these were released. One is July 2004 and another is October 2003.

hmmm !! Interesting. The news portals have flashed a one year and two year old report today as news. What were they doing when they were actually released. And why are they putting old reports as latest news. Beats me.

Can anyone please explain. Am I missing something here ? or Is the actual report on which this news is based hidden someplace else ?

It is about time to maintain these portals from Banglore or Chennai.
May be then we might up to date info.

Statistics are [generally] postmortem, hence to know current situation we might have wait till 2006.
