Hey Paparazzi, leave Prince Charles and Camilla alone !

I absolutely agree that stories about Prince and Princesses have been great blockbusters for thousands of years. Be it the Cinderella story or the stories about Knights in shining armor rescuing Princesses from evil men and fire-breathing dragons, have been told and retold for centuries. And no one ever gets tired of listening to them. Everytime they are told or enacted, people listen with awe.

Today, its still no different. Royalty has become part and parcel of the celebrity world. And people (including myself) love to read royal news and at times blog on it too. No harm done.

But the manner in which the media is going at Prince Charles is quite shocking. Nothing, absolutely nothing seems to stop them. Their insatiable thirst for anything royal has crossed all decency.

Why in gods name can't they tone it down a bit.

Anything and everything that the poor Prince does, has become a butt of ridicule.

Fashion this -

Prince Charles is forced to, all of a sudden, announce his wedding with Camilla, trying desperately to pre-empt a leak to the press.

Then there is speculation whether Camilla would be queen or not. And even after the royal household categorically states that she would be Princess-consort and not Queen, the media speculation refuses to die down.

Then, they announce the wedding date and the formalities of the wedding. All hell breaks loose. Mad media frenzy...Why is the queen not attending.....Why is the ceremony such a simple affair.....Why is it a Civil ceremony....What do the royal heirs to the throne think of this....What should the Church of England be doing and on and on and on.

I was amazed at the intense speculation on why the Queen decided to stay out of the wedding. Is it a snub ? Is she subtly conveying her displeasure ?

And then the most important factor - Diana. How could the Prince marry the woman who was singled out as the reason behind the collapse of his marriage with Diana ? The sympathy for Diana got redirected as hate towards Camilla.

To top it all, the Prince's gaffe when his protests about a reporter finds its way to the microphone !!

Really, the Prince seems to be running short of luck.

I suppose it cannot get worse than this. What does the Prince got to loose ?

I think its time he stood up for himself and his love and say - Take it or leave it. The Prince has finally summed up the courage to wed the woman he loves, after so many years. If some person in the media or even the public has a problem with it, he should ask them to go shove it.

His wedding and his love...is his business. As long as his actions are mature and becoming of a modern day Prince, I think the media should cool it.

This hounding should stop.

Hey media ! leave the Prince alone.
