Indian Intelligence spies on its own people

What a shame ! Another shamefull revelation of the governor's drama in India is the working of the Intelligence agencies. Reports have been floating around in the media that one of the country's top intelligence agencies, the IB (Intelligence Bureau), has been pulled up for not keeping track of the whereabouts of the opposition.

Not only that, apparently the NSA (National Secrity Advisor) to the government has reportedly expressed his displeasure over the sloppyness of the IB, pulling up its chief for the shody work.

I do agree that this is perhaps not the first time that the government has used the state agencies for partisan political purposes. But the difference this time is that there is no attempt to atleast explain such a horrendous behaviour from the government.

Readers would recall that during the Prime Ministership of H.D.Deve Gowda, the same congress party had raised a hue and cry over the alleged usage of this very same IB to spy on the then congress chief Sitaram Kesari. And the congress had bullied the Deve Gowda government over this issue, with the government getting totally defensive on the issue.

But now, the Grand old party is running rough shod over any and every opposition, using any and every means to achieve it.

Is this emergency, Deja Vu ?
